Madrid, Dec 30 (EFE) .- The television program Drag Race Spain, which will search for the best “drag queen” in the country in an adaptation of a successful American series, has opened its casting period, as reported by Atresmedia in a release.
The program adapts the American series “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, created by the American model, actor, singer, composer and presenter RuPaul and who, on the air since 2009, has already won 19 Emmy Awards.
The original format already has 12 seasons and a great success on social networks, with more than 3 million followers on Instagram and more than 150 million views on YouTube.
Those interested may register to later enter the official selection process for this Spanish adaptation, which is in charge of Atresmedia Televisión, in collaboration with Buendía Estudios.
The program will search for the best “drag” star in Spain through different tests and weekly challenges, of an eliminatory nature, such as photo sessions, monologues, musicals or performances, which a jury will evaluate until they find the winner.
The format has already been released in Thailand (Drag Race Thailand), United Kingdom (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK), Chile (The Switch Drag Race), Canada (Canada’s Drag Race) and the Netherlands (Drag Race Holland). EFE
