The new amount of the old-age social pension as of July 1 this year will be determined by the caretaker government at today’s meeting. The increase is 5 percent, with the same percentage and from the same date will be indexed and the amount of pensions granted until the end of last year.
Now the old-age social pension amounts to BGN 141.63, and from July 1 it will be BGN 148.71. The change will lead to an increase in non-employment pensions, as by law their amount is determined by the old-age social security. These are the pensions for military and civil disability, the social pension for disability and the personal pension. There will also be an increase in pension supplements, which are defined as a percentage of the old-age social pension, namely the allowance for foreign aid and that for war veterans.
A total increase will receive 128 thousand retirees. The required funds are 640 million per month and are planned and set in the budget of the State Social Security for this year.
The caretaker government will adopt a plan to implement the 2030 Demographic Development Strategy. A decision of the Council of Ministers from 2020, which approved a draft agreement for cooperation between the Medical Supervision Executive Agency in Bulgaria and the National Transplant Agency of Romania, will also be revoked. A new chairman of the e-Government Agency will be appointed by a decision.
