The incidence rate of COVID in Bucharest has exceeded the threshold of 3 per thousand, so that, starting with Monday, schools with a staff vaccination rate below 60% will go online.
The infection rate calculated on Wednesday is 3.32 cases per thousand inhabitants in 14 days in Bucharest.
The Capital Prefecture has already announced that at 15.00 the meeting of the Bucharest Municipality Committee for Emergency Situations (CMBSU) is convened. Up to 30% of the incidence rate, restaurants, cinemas, gyms and other activities can operate up to a maximum of 30% of capacity, and the emergency committee must make a decision to that effect.
From the threshold of 3 to one thousand, the criterion of the vaccination rate among the teachers and employees of the school for the operation with physical presence comes into force. If this threshold is below 60%, students take online classes and kindergarten children stay at home. According to the Minister of Education, in Bucharest, out of the 655 educational units, at the last report 57 had the vaccination rate of the staff below 60%.
The highest rate of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the Capital was reached on October 22, 2021 – 16.54 cases per thousand inhabitants, then decreased to 0.61, and from Christmas the growth resumed.
