16 large companies have already decided to lead by example. Among them: L’Oréal, Michelin, EDF, Engie, Danone, Orange and Système U. All have set up an accelerated payment system. While businesses normally have two months to pay their suppliers, they do so in a month to help them weather the crisis.
“An unpaid invoice does not allow you to restart”
Because getting paid as quickly as possible is essential for small and medium-sized businesses. And it will be even more at the time of the recovery, according to Pierre Pelouzet. “Paying the bills as quickly as possible is going to be one of the major keys to the economic recovery of our country,” he explains, interviewed by Europe 1. “We are facing a network of companies which, today, have zero cash flow. So an invoice that is not paid does not allow you to restart.
And Pierre Pelouzet continues: “On the contrary, if we pay as quickly as possible, we restore energy, fuel to these small businesses. We allow them to rehire the staff who are on short-time work, to buy the raw material if they need it, to answer the orders, and to revive the economy “.
And the Mediator of companies did the math: when companies exceed the legal deadlines of 15 days, 16 billion euros escape suppliers and slow the economy.
