The Buenos Aires stock market fell 1.71% and the ADRs in New York closed mixed

The Buenos Aires stock market fell 1.71% today and closed at 244,719.09 points, while the shares of Argentine companies (ADRs) listed in New York ended the day with mixed records, with increases of up to 2.8% and cuts. up to 3.4%.

In the Buenos Aires market, among the leading actions, most of the figures were negative, with the papers of Telecom Argentina and Edenor leading the cuts with 3.2% and 3.1%, in that order.

The only improvements corresponded to Sociedad Comercial del Plata (3.2%), BYMA (1.6%), Cresud (1.3%) and Transportadora de Gas del Norte (1.2%).

On Wall Street, the papers of Argentine firms closed the session with mixed results. The improvements were led by Cresud (2.8%) and Edenor (2.36%), and the main falls corresponded to Loma Negra (-3.41%) and Tenaris (-3.06%).

In the fixed-income segment, bonds in dollars ended with significant increases of up to 7.1%, while titles in pesos marked increases of 2% and falls of up to 0.7%.

Within this framework, the country risk fell 2.6% to 2,127 basis points.

In the foreign exchange market, the retail dollar closed today at an average of $201.73, with an increase of $1.18 compared to the last record of the previous week.

Meanwhile, the so-called “blue” dollar operated stable at $377 per unit.

In the stock segment, the cash dollar with settlement (CCL) fell 0.4% to US$368.39 and the MEP advanced 0.2% to $356.45.

In the wholesale market, the US currency rose $1.76 compared to its last close, and ended at $194.95.

The adjustment of the exchange rate -both retail and wholesale- usually compensates on each first day of the week the days without activity due to the weekend and the carnival holiday, in this case.

Likewise, the dollar with the 30% surcharge – contemplated in the Country tax – averaged $262.25 per unit; and with the advance payment of 35% Income Tax on the purchase of foreign currency, the average value was $332.85.

The dollar destined for tourism abroad -and which has a rate of 45%- was located at $353.03, while for purchases over US$ 300 -which has an additional tax of 25%-, it was positioned at $403. .46.
