The Budget “is not a pedestrian”

The Assistant Secretary of State for Finance and Finance today alerted PSD-M deputies in the Assembly of the Republic to the fact that the Budget is not a “pedestal”.

“The budget does not include everything that you would like, because as I said, a budget is not a pedestal”, said Ricardo Mourinho Félix, who reacted like this to social democratic demands, remembering that some of the measures are already accommodated in the Government’s proposal.

The Budget “includes many of the wishes of the people of the autonomous regions and emblematic projects such as the construction of the new hospital in Madeira, in which the State guarantees its financing”, he stressed. In relation to interest, he recalled that “last year there was already a reduction in interest on the loan that the region pays to the State and for this year, refinancing guarantees are given at a lower cost.”

Today in the Assembly of the Republic, in the vote on the special proposals for changes to the State Budget for 2020, Sara Madruga da Costa appealed to all parties and in particular the PS deputies elected by Madeira to make the 50 proposals that the three deputies of the PSD presented and that deal with several dossiers pending in the Government of the Republic since the last legislature.

The call for “vote for Madeira” was repeated several times by the Social Democratic deputy, always with her eyes on the PS deputies. “We hope that the deputies elected by Madeira, do not continue to vote against the Region and, for the first time, do as we do, vote for Madeira”, he challenged.

From the socialist bench, no soon after came the voice of Carlos Pereira. The deputy notes that the PSD’s proposals – Madeira nor support have from his parliamentary group, so it will not be the PS that will make them viable. “We are facing irresponsibility and an unusual situation. They were not able to convince the support of their parliamentary group, they were not able to find the formulas necessary for the proposals to have the right votes and to be able to be voted in favor. The best epitaph for this situation is that the 50 proposals from Madeira have 3 guaranteed votes and nothing else. If you are waiting for the PS to find those votes, you are very wrong ”, warned the socialist deputy.
