David Pastrňák helped in the opening match of the 1st round of the NHL playoffs with a goal and a pass to Patrice Bergeron’s winning goal in the second overtime to win Boston over Carolina 4: 3. David Krejčí also scored in the Bruins jersey, whose shot from the third period was assisted by another Czech striker in the winning team, Ondřej Kaše.

Pastrňák, who was together with Alexander Ovečkin from Washington the best scorer of the basic part, scored in the 18th minute. He overcame Mrázka from an angle after Brad Marchand’s pass and equalized to 1: 1, because Joel Edmundson opened the score four minutes earlier.

In the second period, the Bruins took the lead with Charlie Coyle’s controversial goal. Carolina protested that Mrázek had held the puck in the trap shortly before, so the goal should not be recognized. The Hurricanes failed to protest, and according to the rules, Boston was given the opportunity to play a power play, in which, however, Brock McGinn caught Pastrňák’s record in blue and equalized after a break in the weakening.
Boston took the lead again after less than a minute of the third period, when Krejčí reached Kaše’s shot and overtook Mrázek after a cold-blooded handle to the forehand. Haydn Fleury was the scorer. Tuukku Raska, who had 25 interventions, overcame with a shot from the blue.
