The Nintendo Indie World broadcast this afternoon announced that the Quebec game Spiritfarer was going to land the Nintendo Switch today. But that’s not all: the game is now available everywhere!
From today, you will be able to go on an adventure with Stella, a soul passer who will befriend spirits in their last moments. Designed by the Quebec studio Thunder Lotus, Spiritfarer is a game that tackles the complicated subject of death, but with gentleness and serenity.

Spiritfarer is first and foremost a management game. You will therefore have to build your boat, fish, cook and harvest. You will be accompanied by a cat, which can be played in co-op mode.
Your mission will be to fulfill your friends’ last wishes before they cross into the afterlife. It’s touching, elegant and sweet as a game and I highly suggest it to those who liked Grey or Journey. Being able to hug a virtual character may seem trivial, but with so much confinement, it’s good for the soul.
Spiritfarer is available on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, Xbox One (and Game Pass) as well as PlayStation 4. A Stadia launch is slated for later this month.
