Three portuenses have been the winners of the raffle that the Department of Culture launched at the beginning of Christmas to promote the bookstores from the city. The Councilor for Culture, Lola fields, was in charge of delivering to them yesterday, at the Pedro Muñoz Seca Theater, the batches of books composed of works by Rafael Alberti and other authors of classical literature.
The campaign took place on the City Council’s social networks and urged citizens to name the last book they had purchased and the Porto store where they had bought it as a simple way to promote reading and the small bookstores of the city. “An initiative to try to give more visibility to local establishments in front of the large online commerce platforms at a time of economic crisis in which lifelong stores need our support, no matter how small, to get ahead”, Lola Campos stressed that she was visiting several bookstores in the city to see first-hand the impressions of the booksellers.
