The French Handball Federation (FFHB) wishes to preserve as much as possible the health bubble around the Blues currently gathered at the handball house in Créteil, and therefore limit travel for the group already strongly impacted by cases of Covid in recent days.
The party spoiled for the second time in Chambéry
If this first Golden League match against Egypt scheduled for Chambéry next Friday is relocated, the second scheduled for Paris-Bercy against Norway on Sunday is canceled, as well as the meeting between Denmark and Norway, the two teams do not not having wished to make the trip on French territory. In place “a second France – Egypt match will be held in Créteil, at the Palais des Sports Robert-Oubron, the same day at 4:45 p.m.“explains the Federation in a press release.

The Savoyard public will therefore have to wait a while before honoring its champions and the 100% Chambéry management of the French team, coach Guillaume Gille and assistant coach, current Chambéry coach Erick Mathé.
“It’s bound to be a big disappointment, but reason wins out” for Alain Poncet, the president of Chambéry Savoie Mont-Blanc Handball, “the situation was not sustainable, neither economically nor in terms of health. It is complicated to move the French team from Paris to Chambéry without taking any risk. It does not seem reasonable to get them out of a health bubble before the Euro just to come and play a match. In our discussions with the federation, we agreed that there will be a match in Chambéry later. We’re gonna end up having it“.
Reimbursement of places
For all those who have bought tickets for the match on January 7 at the Phare de Chambéry, here are the different reimbursement terms.
- General public via the ticket office of the French Handball Federation. The reimbursement of seats will be made by an automatic credit on the bank card used during the purchase. Buyers do not have to take any special steps.
- General public via other distribution networks. Buyers should look to their point of purchase for purchase.
- Clubs / Groups via the FFHandball ticketing service. For group purchases, the Federation will come back directly to the buyers to tell them the procedure to follow for the refund.
