As every year the UNRAE (National Union of Foreign Motor Vehicle Representatives) has published the ranking of best-selling cars in Italywith a series of data and considerations on the trend of the automotive market.
A total of 1,316,702 cars were registered in 2022, more than 141,000 fewer than in 2021, with a drop of 9.7 percent. UNRAE points out that this year’s figure is close to the all-time low recorded in 2013, when 1,304,500 cars were registered. It’s even worse of the 2020 datawhen due to the pandemic there was a market collapse and only 1,381,496 cars were registered.
The best-selling car is still the Fiat Panda (as in the previous three years), followed by the Lancia Ypsilon and the Fiat 500 (which were in third and second place respectively last year). The fourth best-selling car is the Dacia Sandero, which is also the first car in the standings not to be part of the Stellantis group.
