Also this year, at the beautiful end of the summer season, from 25 to 28 August, Riga Beach Volleyball Week will take place in the center of Riga, which has been taking place in the Dome Square for the previous two years. This time no less special place has been chosen for the event – the center’s sports quarter, 116a Kr. Barona Street, where, as usual, all beach volleyball fans are invited to participate and enjoy this sport, the organizers inform.

For the third year in a row, Riga Beach Volleyball Week will offer exciting games for Latvian professional beach volleyball players, charity tournaments for well-known people, amateur competitions and youth tournaments, as well as a special closing event for free summer training.
Every day, the beach volleyball courts will be filled by young people of all ages, who, having previously held qualifying tournaments, earned the opportunity to climb to the main court in front of the spectators. Traditionally, one day – this time on Friday, August 28, will be spent in a special atmosphere, when young people will have the opportunity to meet their beach volleyball idols, play various relays and competitions, as well as hold demonstration trainings.
Like young people, amateurs fought in previously organized qualifying tournaments to climb the sand of Riga beach volleyball week and prove their skills. This year’s novelty is the beach volleyball hall tournament, in which representatives of halls – “O-Sands”, “Beach Box”, “Beach Arena” and “Ruukki” – will compete with each other to win the title of the most masterful hall.
The most anticipated event of “Riga Beach Volleyball Week” is the “Lido King of the Beach” game, in which Latvia’s four brightest men’s beach volleyball players will compete individually – Mārtiņš Pļaviņš, Edgars Točs, Jānis Šmēdiņš a Alexander Samoilov. Keeping the intrigue until the game itself, on the evening of August 28, we will find out whether Jānis Šmēdiņš will succeed in winning the title of “King” for two years in a row. The game will be broadcast on “Best4SportTV” TV channel.
Of course, the event will not be possible without the favorite charity game, in which Latvian popular athletes, actors, television personalities and musicians will fill the beach volleyball court with attractive activities.
