The man with the initials Q was arrested after claiming to be members of the Navy in Rajeg, Tangerang Regency. Naval Military Police Center (Puspomal) explained the disclosure of the case.
Danpuspomal TNI Maj. Gen. (Mar) I Made Wahyu Santoso said that initially a photo of a man claiming to be a member of the TNI with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel circulated. Puspom AL suspects that the man is not a real member of the TNI.
The Puspom TNI AL then traced the man to Rajeg District, Tangerang Regency, on Thursday (9/3). Arriving at the perpetrator’s house, Puspom asked for confirmation from the perpetrator’s wife with the initials M and search was carried out.
“After a search was carried out inside the house, several TNI attributes were found complete with their equipment, such as epaulettes, service marks, brevets, headgear, military boots and camouflage bags,” said Wahyu Santoso in his statement, Monday (13/3/2023) ).
The joint team then brought Q to Mako Puspomal Kelapa Gading for in-depth study. Wahyu said the arrests of fake TNI had been carried out frequently. He also asked the public to be careful and know how to distinguish real and fake soldiers.
“In anticipation of the potential impact of troubling the community, because there are frequent acts of fraud to gain personal gain carried out by fake TNI personnel,” he said.
