“Well, I think this is one of the most beautiful competitions in football. We know that it is the dream of all players to play it and win it. Every time I play in the Champions League it is an important moment. They are very nice games, because the best teams play. I think it is very nice to play.”
You have had a lot of success in this tournament. What memories do you have?
“Well, we always think about the day of the final and the day of victory. When you lift the trophy, right? Without a doubt, the most beautiful moments are always the games you come back in an impossible way or win when everything was lost. Those are surely the most important moments of winning this. So, I believe that every minute, every game and every moment has a very beautiful story.”
Can you put into words what it really means to win the Champions League?
“It’s a very nice moment. You try to enjoy as much as possible when you win, right? When you win, everything is much more beautiful, but it is not easy. It’s not easy to win. You have to work hard, run and fight every day to be successful in the end. To get to that, you have to work a lot.”
