The bank wall in Arheilgen is being renewed

Darmstadt The city of Darmstadt begins on Monday with the repair of the bank wall on Ruthsenbach along Bachstrasse in the Arheilgen district.

The city of Darmstadt begins this Monday with the repair of the bank wall at Ruthsenbach along Bachstrasse in the Arheilgen district. Because due to the spread of the new type of corona virus, it was not possible to carry out a preliminary assessment of the residents’ buildings from the inside, and because all the experts asked by the city had referred to the protection of employees and residents, the start of construction, which was originally planned for mid-April, had to be postponed will.

The city has now been informed, according to a message from the executing company, that due to the relaxation of the contact restrictions, the houses could now be inspected in coordination with the residents last week, so that the actual construction work could begin.

In the course of the work, the existing wall along Bachstrasse is demolished and replaced by a concrete retaining wall. In order to maintain the overall urban design, the concrete wall is then clad with natural stones.

The construction work is expected to last until the end of July 2020 and cost around 600,000 euros. Local traffic will be maintained throughout the construction period. However, the city says that noise pollution and short-term traffic restrictions due to the limited space must be expected. jjo
