The Baltic States and Poland are ready to build new logistics corridors from Ukraine

The Minister of Transport points out that all three large Latvian ports and the grain terminals in them are ready to handle Ukrainian cargo, but the biggest problem at the moment is the delivery of cargo to the Baltic States. Latvia is ready to work with colleagues from Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine to find solutions to these challenges.

“The determination and work of Ukraine’s colleagues in these challenging times is admirable, and Latvia is ready to support all efforts to continue exporting the country’s agricultural products,” said the Minister of Transport.

Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of cereals in the world, but due to the war it cannot use its ports in the Black and Azov Seas.

At the meeting, the Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure said that it was important to look for new logistics directions in this situation in order to minimize the risk of reduced food availability in the world.
