On Monday, November 15, President Egils Levits will pay a working visit to the Republic of Lithuania to meet with Lithuanian President Gitan Nauseda and Estonian President Alar Karis in Vilnius. The Presidents of the Baltic States will also have an online conversation with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, on the situation on the external border between Belarus and the European Union and the common position to repel the hybrid attack on Belarus.
The presidents of the three Baltic states will also discuss the strengthening of transatlantic ties, climate change, joint transport and energy projects, as well as the Three Seas Initiative.
In the joint declaration, the presidents intend to emphasize the sustainability issues and challenges of the Baltic States and the Baltic Sea in order to successfully achieve climate neutrality in accordance with the ambitions set by the European Union in this field.
After visiting the Palace of the President of Lithuania, the President will meet with the University management and representatives of the Institute of Baltic Languages and Culture at Vilnius University.
In 2022, Latvia will take over responsibility for the coordination of the Baltic States from Lithuania.
