Alinéa, the French furniture brand, has been placed in receivership.

Direct competitor of Ikea, the Swedish global giant, the French furniture brand Alinéa declared its state of cessation of payments to the Commercial Court of Marseille, says the daily Provence. The courts have opened a receivership procedure.

Alinéa says it suffered from the Yellow Vests crisis in 2018, demonstrations against the pension reform in 2019 and the confinement that led to the closure of its thirty stores for almost two months.

The company employs nearly 2,000 people, including 250 in Aubagne in the Bouches-du-Rhône where its head office is located. In our region, it has two stores in Blagnac and Saint-Orens in Haute-Garonne and two stores in Montpellier, in Pérols and Odysseum. Alinéa is chaired by Alexis Mulliez and belongs to the shareholders of the family association Mulliez which heads the Auchan empire.
