Afterparty Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

In the first scene of the eighth episode, “Feng”, Zoe calls Kyler to ask him to watch the video footage he took on the night of Edgar and Grace’s wedding. Aniq tells Vivian that Ulysses told him and Danner about their relationship. Aniq persuades Vivian to tell her daughters about the case and talk to them about it. Aniq and Danner watch the video as Kyler shares it with them. Feng also joins them, giving his version of what happened and explaining why he made certain decisions over the weekend. Feng claims that he did everything for the sake of his family. Feng admits he recruited Kyler to expand the social media presence of his Baobing truck known as the “King of Bing.”

When Vivian talks to them privately, Zoe and Grace believe she killed Edgar. But Vivian confides in her daughters about her relationship with Ulysses. Feng was facing serious financial problems, as shown in the video recording. He owed his investors money because his company Baobing failed to take off. However, Feng had hidden his financial troubles from his family. When Feng’s Baobing food truck was towed away on the night of the rehearsal dinner, his chances of getting an investment were seriously damaged. Feng explains that he intended to impress Edgar with his Baobing in order to persuade him to invest in his business. As a result, Feng made the decision to use manual ice crushing equipment to serve Baobing.

Meanwhile, Ulysses’ presence at the wedding also turned Feng away. Feng ignored his brother and focused on preserving his business. Before the wedding, Feng worked hard to persuade Edgar to invest $400,000 in his business. Edgar declined, however, as he didn’t like investing in physical stores. Edgar nevertheless agrees to think about an investment if he likes the product, especially since Roxanne, his pet lizard, does not like cakes and wants to offer him a different treat. After a brief argument with Ulysses later, Feng asked his brother to avoid the latter.

Feng spent most of the wedding reception in the kitchen preparing Baobings for the guests, and the dessert was a hit. Edgar, however, refuses to take dessert while arguing verbally with his mother, Isabel. As a result, Feng had to wait until the afterparty to give Edgar his meal. However, since Roxanne and Edgar didn’t like the flavor of Baobings and didn’t want to invest in the business, Feng had a reason to kill his son-in-law. Feng defends his behavior in front of Danner and Aniq, and Vivian confesses to her affair and accepts her mistake. Grace confesses her affection for Hannah after Vivian declares her love for Feng.

End of episode 8 of season 2 of The Afterparty: did Feng kill Edgar?

The arguments against Feng are strengthened in the episode’s final act. At first, Ulysses and Vivian’s affair shocked Feng, who also thought Grace was the product of that affair. Feng had a reason to kill Edgar in order to protect his family. Second, Feng had financial difficulties and his business was in trouble. Feng had no other options after his attempt to raise capital through Edgar failed. Grace is heiress to Edgar’s money as she did not sign a prenup before their marriage. Therefore, killing Edgar would be the answer to all of Feng’s problems. Feng leaves after being devastated by the accusations against him.

Feng is chased by Aniq as she makes contact with him. Feng is urged by Aniq to reveal all of his secrets as it is the only way to ensure his and Grace’s safety. The evidence is overwhelming that Feng killed Edgar, but Feng will not accept responsibility. Feng claims he was just trying to save his business. According to Feng, he wanted the Baobing business to succeed so that Vivian would discover his sense of adventure and fall in love with him again. Unbeknownst to Feng, Vivian confesses her love to him and says she regrets having an affair. Nevertheless, Feng is now the prime suspect in Edgar’s murder. When Danner chooses to question Isabel because of her altercation with Edgar, the story takes a new turn in the final scenes. The murderer is shown not to be Grace by Isabel, who spends the majority of the episode destroying the evidence.
