The 4th China-Central and Eastern European Countries Cangzhou Cooperation Forum for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Started in North China’s Hebei Province

CANGZHOU, China, December 20, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The 4th Cangzhou Cooperation Forum of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) began on December 15 in Cangzhou, Hebei Province, north China. This was announced by the Cangzhou municipal government.

The forum, under the theme “New Cooperation Opportunities for China-CEE – A New Future for SMEs”, is co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) and Hebei Province and supported by the CEEC Secretariat.

The governor of Hebei, Wang Zhengpu, gave a welcome speech to the forum. He said that the China-CEEC SME Cooperation Zone (Cangzhou) serves as an essential window for opening up to the CEEs. It is China’s first SME cooperation zone exclusively for CEE countries.

“We cordially invite all friends at home and abroad to come Hebei invest,” Wang noted, adding that the province attaches great importance to comprehensive cooperation with the CEECs and constantly comes up with new highlights in the pursuit of multifaceted cooperation.

Through previous preparations and negotiations, this forum has completed 105 cooperation agreements with a total contracted investment of 136.769 billion yuan (about 19.5 billion US dollars), ranging from equipment manufacturing to new materials to new energy, trade abroad and to cooperation in education, among others.

The cooperation forum serves as a communication platform for SMEs in China and CEECs and thus further intensified the cooperation between these companies in various sectors. It is a really influential and competitive high-profile platform for both sides.

The China-CEE (Cangzhou) SME Cooperation Forum has been successfully held for three consecutive years since 2018, and has produced a total investment of 31.689 billion yuan (about 4.52 billion US dollars), 48 memorandums of cooperation and 53 cooperation agreements.

As the northern starting point of the “Ancient Maritime Silk Road” and with the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal running through the entire city, Cangzhou has been known since ancient times for its thriving commercial and industrial activity.

Recently, Cangzhou has made efforts to create a favorable business environment for foreign companies by building international financial services and creating an efficient and transparent public administration environment. The city’s GDP was over 400 billion yuan (about US$57 billion) in 2021, ranking the city ranks the 66th. place in the country.

Cangzhou City and Hebei Province see the China-CEE SME Cooperation Forum (Cangzhou) as an opportunity and will continue to work closely with CEE companies. The city and county will provide high-quality support services and an optimal business environment to provide more incentives for cooperation projects to settle here.
