The 2022 Asus Vivobooks are attacking with OLED displays and artistic releases

In addition to the usual hardware upgrade, the Asus Vivobook series has two special releases this year.

ASUS held its online event, The Pinnacle of Performance, where it unveiled its 2022 laptops, including the buffalo-powered Zenbook series and a more youthful Vivobook series aimed at creators.

About the former reported in a separate articleand for the latter, here we got seven new devices with Intel and AMD processors, an OLED display, and two special editions designed by artists Steven Harrington and Philip Colbert.

Vivobook Pro 16X OLED

At the top of the line is the Vivobook Pro 16X with 16-inch 120 Hz OLED display (3200×2000 pixel resolution), which can be ordered with up to a 12th generation Intel i9-12900H and AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processors. The in the former the GeForce RTX 3070 Tiaz in the latter the RTX 3060 the most powerful GPU selectable. Up to 32GB of 4800MHz DDR5 memory is available, with a maximum storage capacity of 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The entire housing of the Vivobook S16X is made of metal, with a battery capacity of 90 Wh.

Vivobook Pro 15X OLED

The Vivobook Pro 15X OLED specification is largely the same as the top model, but features a slightly smaller 15.6-inch OLED panel with 2880×1620 pixel resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The most powerful processor of choice is the 12th generation Intel i7-12700H as well as the AMD Ryzen 9 9600HX. Here, too, we get IceCool Pro cooling and a fingerprint reader, but the battery capacity is only 76 Wh due to its smaller size. Vivobook Pro 14X OLED

A Vivobook Pro 14X OLED the smallest member of the Pro series, with an OLED panel that offers a 14.5-inch resolution of 2880×1800 pixels and 120 Hz image refresh. There is no AMD variant of this, it can be ordered with up to Intel Core i9-12900H processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU. The maximum memory is 32GB LPDDR5 (4800 MHz) with 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. Cooling has been relegated to IceCool Pro technology here as well, but while the solution in the larger models handles 140W of CPU + GPU power, it has only been calibrated to 70W. 1 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 2 USB 2.0 Type-A and HDMi 2.1 and MicroSD readers are available from the connector. With a battery capacity of 70 Wh, it also has a fingerprint reader, Harman Kardon speakers and Dolby Vision support.

Vivobook S 15 OLED and S 14 OLED

And with that, we switched to the S-series, which is positioned a little lower. The largest member of the two-device range is the 15.6-inch with 2880×1620 pixel resolution and 120 Hz image refresh rate. Vivobook S 15 OLED. The most powerful processor to choose from here is the Intel i7-12700H with Intel Iris integrated graphics solution. The maximum memory is 16GB DDR4 (3800 MHz) and the storage is 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD on the ceiling. Other extras include a fingerprint reader and noise-canceling ASUS microphone, and a battery capacity of 70 Wh. As for the ports, 1 USB 2.0 Type-A, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 2 Thunderbolt 4 and 1 HDMI 2.0b connector are available. THE Vivobook S14 OLEDin, a 14-inch panel with a resolution of 2880×1800 pixels serves as a 90 Hz image refresh rate. Everything else is the same, so here we really just choose size.

Vivobook S 14X OLED

Compared to the basic S editions, the S14X OLED, which attacks with an all-metal housing, represents a higher level of quality and is available in both Intel and AMD processor versions. The in the strongest of smart options i7-12700H chip crashes with Intel Iris integrated graphics for the AMD variant and the pleasures culminate in the Ryzen 9 6900 HX. Other than that, however, we get the same laptop with a 14.5-inch, 2880×1800-pixel OLED display, up to 16GB of DDR5 4800Mhz RAM, 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and a 70W battery. The machines weigh 1.6 kg and are 16.9 mm thick. On the front of the connectors we can expect 1 USB 2.0 Type-A, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 2 Thunderbolt 4 and 1 HDMI 2.0b.

Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Artist Editions

The novelty of the Vivobook family was closed with real delicacies by the Taiwanese manufacturer: the Vivobook 13 Slate, turbocharged with a detachable display, received two limited edition releases by contemporary artists, most notably the British master of pop art, Philip Colbert and is known for his psychedelic style Steve Harrington thrown up. The tablet / PC hybrids come in a unique design with a sleek case and mouse, and even the box of the machines carries the handprints of the creators.

Except for the looks, we are talking about exactly the same machines. The display is matched by a 13.3-inch OLED display with FHD resolution, 550-bit brightness, touch detection and stylus support. Inside is a quad-core Intel Pentium Silver N6000 robot processor with 4M cache and 3.3GHz maximum performance. ASUS provides 8GB of memory LPDDR4X RAM, the only storage option is a 256GB PCIE 3.0 SSD. The hybrids are not crowded in the usual way, the repertoire consists of 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-Cs, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a MicroSD reader.

The domestic release date and pricing of the machines are not yet known at the time of writing. The Vivobook Pro series and S14X models come with Windows 11 Pro, the rest are Windows 11 Home.
