The 1st Gödi Sausage Festival – Dunakanyar Region was a huge success

One of the jewels of the city is the bottomless lake on the Danube and its surroundings, which has been the site of many successful cultural events and celebrations over the years, where today the 1st Gödi sausage festival was held with great success! Several thousand people enjoyed the locally prepared delicacies of the 22 competing teams and the show of the performing artists.

The enticing aromas could already be felt from afar, which really attracted the guests to the tents, where cheerful ladies and gentlemen with diligent hands were grinding the meat and seasoning the sausages to be baked according to individual taste.

In one of the tents lined up next to each other, Norbert Pőcze and his team of friends – the Gastronauts – offered the mouth-watering delicacy.

– We are very happy that the municipality organized its sausage sizzle, which clearly brings the residents of Göd together. We are also having a great time, the party is good, said Norbert enthusiastically, who revealed to us that they made a “peaceful” sausage from the 20 kg of meat – using traditional seasoning. – Our team is a group of friends, we have been together for twenty years. We are there at the city’s vintage parade, but also at the cooking competitions. We are all happy with the municipality’s initiative, we hope that today’s event laid the foundation for next year’s continuation. We will there! – said a member of the Gastronauts team.

During the conversation, it turned out that Norbert Pőcze makes sausage and salami for home consumption every year.

There was also a cheerful group in the nearby tent, whose “spokesperson” was Csilla Gunglné Mayer, who said that it was a “big family”, they lived on the same street, and even often went jogging together.
“I can say without exaggeration that we are a real community.” That’s why we’re glad that the mayor organized this truly community event, the sausage sizzle, said the good-natured lady, who, together with her team mates, would very much like the municipality to organize this meat festival again next year.

It quickly became clear that they also make sausages for the family, since his grandparents had pork belly several times a year. – This is a family tradition, as is the fact that we make the sausage with highland seasoning and lots of garlic. We come from the highlands, we nurture and carry on the food culture and tradition inherited from our grandparents and parents.

In the ring of the people of Göd, I met the Minister of Justice Bence Tuzson, a member of the Parliament of Göd, who shared his latest experiences with us in response to our question: – Everything is revealed by the joyful good mood of the competing teams and the guests, who are obviously having a great time. This also proves that there was a great need for such an event in Göd. We have also seen this in Dunakeszin and Fót, but not yet here in Gödö. I’ll be honest, when the idea came up, I didn’t know if this event would be successful. I can see it today and I’m very happy that it’s so popular with people. It is clear that the people of Gödi also demand community-building events. Such a program offers an excellent opportunity for people to talk informally and get to know each other. The sausage roll went very well, I congratulate the mayor and the organizing team.

The Member of Parliament said that he is pleased to see that the public mood in Göd has improved month by month since the election last May, and more and more people are participating in community and cultural events.

The former sleepy town is now a bustling city

– The former sleepy town is beginning to transform into a vibrant city, where citizens can have fun locally, participate in demanding events, and do not have to travel to neighboring settlements or the capital for a cultural experience. I am happy to see that Göd was also able to become a real community. Göd now has events that really create community. This has been a big lack so far, and I’m glad that it could be realized. Göd is starting to “find” its former self, its long-known bourgeois image, said the city’s parliamentarian.

Many familiar faces could be seen, several people visited the event from Vác and the neighboring Dunakeszi, but we also met people from Phot.

– I was very happy to come to the first Gödi sausage festival – said Zsolt Imre, head of the Dunakeszi Járosi Hivatal, who did not hide his opinion: – I don’t deny it, I am very surprised to see how successful this event is. I see that the mayor has hit the taste of the people of Gödi. I talked to members of several teams, who clearly spoke positively about the program and the organization. I tasted two sausages, both of them were very tasty, but I think the same goes for Gödi sausages. The event is excellent, which is also a huge success among the guests. Several people said that it was a real community program, which they liked very much – highlighted Zsolt Imre, who sees that in almost every settlement such and similar tradition-creating, community-building events are organized to the great delight of the population. – The event is excellent, I congratulate the mayor for the idea and the implementation of the festival. Everyone smiles, everyone feels good, I am also very happy to be here – said Zsolt Imre.

One of Göd’s best-known entrepreneurs, Gábor Gusztus, and his team also entered a sausage gastronomic competition, and he is also known to often make sausage for home consumption. – I tried to use the flavorings and seasonings inherited from my grandparents in the sausages made here. We are glad that the spicy sausage, rich in spices, won the taste of the festival visitors. All sold out! says the entrepreneur with a butcher’s degree with a satisfied smile.

Gábor Gusztus, who takes an active role in the cultural and public life of the city, firmly stated to our interest: – Everyone can see that even his first sausage was a huge success. I hope that it will continue, because there is a demand for such a gastronomic event, which attracts a large number of people. I see old friends here at the event whom I haven’t seen in years. Well organized, great event! Must continue! – He told.

Today, even the fence in Gödön is made of sausages

After a long search in the huge whirlwind, I managed to find the mayor of the city, who was evaluating the event with Attila Juhász, the owner of Újház Piramis Építőház Kft. and his friend.
– The mayor wrote on his Facebook page that even the fence in Gödö is made of sausage – I quote Zoltán Kammerer’s post this morning.

“Today, the fence in Göd is really made of sausages.” We tried to live up to the well-known saying. With the kolbásztusa gastro event, a very old dream came true. I felt that we should pick up where we left off at the end of last year. In fact, you have to put it on with a shovel! Already at the beginning of the year! Our goal was to organize an urban community-building event where everyone feels good. We have never had a gastro festival, but today’s example shows that there is a huge demand for it. It is a great experience for both the competing teams and the audience! In addition to eating delicacies, people spend their time having pleasant conversations. There are thousands of people here, everyone is happy, which is helped by the favorable weather and the excellent entertainment program – says the mayor of the city with satisfaction, who says that the atmosphere of the current event is completely different from that of their very first festival.

As we learned, 22 teams started at the 1st Gödi Kolbásztusa festival.

– The municipality provided 20 kg of meat for each team, in addition to bread, mustard and pickles, we also provided the tent. Everything else needed to make the sausage was brought by the teams – informed Zoltán Kammerer, who added: – The city also took care of the performing artists, who clearly created a great atmosphere in the huge covered tent, where many people danced. Among the performers were Márió, Csocsesz, Feri Kaczor and the Envious Gland.

In the colorful and cheerful whirlwind, someone said: the people of Göd are starting to find each other more and more – I share this with Zoltán Kammerer.

– I remember that when I was a child, there were ten thousand of us living in Göd. I knew everyone, everyone said hello to everyone. Unfortunately, this withered over time, with the continuous increase in Göd’s population. Today, 22-23 thousand of us live in the city. This type of festival, which is attended by 4-5 thousand people, is well-served by the community-building and relationship-building that many people demand. Here, the people of Göd can get to know each other and talk to each other, and friendships can even develop between them. That is why we consider it important to organize festivals and community programs. This year, there will be even bigger and smaller festivals and city celebrations, where young people, families, but also members of the older, retired age group can celebrate and have fun together – explained Mayor Zoltán Kammerer, who expressed his joy that the organization of the gastrofestival will bring thousands of Gödi citizens citizens gained a lasting and beautiful experience.
