The 16th Grand Auction of Books and Movies in CDMX is a great opportunity for lovers of reading and for those who are passionate about music and movies. With a diverse offer that ranges from novels to popular science, through stories, children’s titles, historical and biographies, there is something for every taste and preference.

The Ministry of Culture and the Para Leer en Libertad AC Brigade invite you to its second edition of the year with 180 exhibitors and more than 300 publishing labels. Under the motto “Save a book, don’t let them destroy it”, you will find books, records and movies from $10 to $150 pesos.

Where will it take place?

In this edition, the event will take place at the Monument to the Revolution, located in the Tabacalera neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office. Over five days, you’ll have the opportunity to explore 10 tents packed with irresistibly priced literary and film treasures.

The previous edition attracted 160,000 people, demonstrating the success and importance of this cultural fair in Mexico City. In addition to offering discounts, the Great Book and Movie Auction promotes dialogue between writers and readers, enriching the cultural life of the city. This initiative seeks to rescue thousands of titles from the shredder, allowing old publications to find new and curious readers. Publishers will offer attractive discounts to promote the purchase of books with higher costs.

Date and times:

With a schedule from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., this event encourages reading and access to culture. From August 2 to 6, this event will take place at the Monument to the Revolution.
