The new type of corona virus is transmitted primarily by droplets, but the pathogen can also stick to surfaces for a while and from there find its way into the body via smear infections. Of course, clothes also come to mind.
The impulse to wear new clothes without washing can sometimes be overpowering. But as great as the desire for new things is: resist the urge to put on the new favorite parts immediately after purchase! Regardless of the corona virus you are doing yourself and especially your skin absolutely no favor.
Chemical cocktail on the skin
No garment is free of chemicals. It starts with production, where toxic substances are often used, especially for dyeing. Then the parts are specially processed for transport with special means so that they are wrinkle-free and smooth for as long as possible. Clothing is also often treated against mold because the transport routes are long. If the T-shirt, trousers etc. are not washed, all the chemicals come into direct contact with the skin. Some respond with a rash. In extreme cases, an allergic shock can even be triggered.

Can the corona virus stick to clothing?
There is still no clear answer to this. Up to now, studies have mainly examined surfaces such as steel, cardboard or plastic. Corona viruses can remain there for several hours. However, individual experts have commented on a possible transmission via clothing.
“Ordinary customers shouldn’t worry about their clothes,” said Sarah Fortune, professor and chair of the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, told MarketWatch. “If you work in the healthcare sector and may be exposed to a high virus density, things are different. But most of us should focus on your hands and face. “
