Last September the robotics company Boston Dynamics started selling its robot dog Spot to selected customers. Now the four-legged robot is in free sale through the Online shop of the manufacturer available. For the first time, Boston Dynamics also names a price. And it’s not cheap at $ 74,500.
The robotic dog is therefore rather nothing for private users, but it is not certified anyway for home use. The company expressly warns against use near children. The target audience is industrial users who can use the robot to inspect dangerous or inaccessible terrain, for example, to collect data and to transport loads.
Spot is basically a highly mobile camera that can climb stairs, trudge through the mud, and generally handle the terrain better than almost any other robot on Earth, it says at Ars Technica.
