“That crook is fast.” Biden tried an electric pickup from Ford

“He’s a quick crook.” – “Would you buy him?” – “Yes, he did.” – “Mr. President, may we have a question about Israel before you go?” – No, you can’t… Unless you want to get in front of the car, when I step on the pedal… I’m just teasing you. Here we go. Are you ready?”

The first drive of a fully electric version of the Ford F-150, the best-selling car in US history, with the White House boss behind the wheel, took precedence over events in the Middle East for a short time. It took place the day before the official world premiere of the electric car. And of course, none of this was a coincidence.

The carmaker was counting on the president’s visit as part of his trip to the United States. Biden is raising support for its infrastructure development finance package. Total up to $ 2.3 trillion, ie almost 48 trillion crowns, has to pay for everything from the repair of tens of thousands of bridges to the complete replacement of water pipes in the USA.

However, $ 174 billion, or about 3.6 trillion crowns, should go to electrification and the construction of charging stations, so that America can be, in Biden’s words, number one on the market.

Joe Biden also announced tax breaks for electric car manufacturers and drivers at the Ford plant. For example, the new Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck with federal and state support is worth it $ 39,974 even under 30,000, which is about 635,500 crowns. Experts expected the price to be 20 thousand dollars higher.

The basic range of the car is 370 kilometers. It has two engines, one on each axle, with a total output of 318 kW, ie 426 hp. The more expensive version with 563 horsepower has a longer range, ie about 480 kilometers, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 4.5 seconds – Joe Biden tried it at the premiere of the car.

The Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup is equipped with an on-board charger (AC) with an output of 19.2 kW, but also with a quick charge (DC) with an output of up to 150 kW, which charges the car from 15 to 80 percent, allegedly in just 41 minutes. Those interested will receive the first purchased electric cars in the spring of next year.
