Thalys will run less frequently to and from Paris in the near future | NOW

In the coming period, Thalys will run fewer trains to and from Paris, a spokesperson reported on Monday AD. Last week the train came twice to stand firm due to technical problems. Because these trains are now being repaired and therefore cannot run, this has consequences for the timetable.

It is not known how many fewer trains are involved and how long it will take before the problems are resolved. In any case, about three trains a day will be canceled in the coming week, including routes from Amsterdam and Brussels to Paris and vice versa.

On Sunday, the Thalys between Disneyland Paris and Amsterdam came to a halt for unknown reasons. Because there was no power, the air conditioning also went out. The passengers were evacuated from the train only after more than two hours.

It happened last Tuesday as well. Then a Thalys train came to a halt near Gare du Nord station in Paris. The heat made it so hot in the compartments that travelers smashed a window. People on the platforms then threw bottles of water into the train through the broken window.

Thalys says that the two incidents are unrelated, but that the repairs to the trains will have consequences for the timetable. “We have 28 trains. There are always a few that are not available for maintenance and now two more are coming,” a spokesperson said. AD. “We are investigating the incidents. That is why both trains have now been taken off the track.”
