Test Purchase Calls to Report DualSense Controller Drift – Gaming – News

The Belgian consumer organization Test Achats is calling on owners of a Playstation 5 DualSense controller to report any drift problems. The organization believes that too many controllers suffer from this problem and wants to turn to Sony for a solution.

Owners of a DualSense controller with drift issues can report this on the website terapkapot.be, a hotline for early aging of products. After the organization has received the complaints, it will “demand proper follow-up by repair or replacement” from Sony.

Earlier this week, Test Purchase sent a letter to Sony in which it asks what measures the Japanese company is taking against owners with a defective controller. The consumer organization is convinced that more DualSense controllers with controller drift will be reported in the coming months. “As the supply of new consoles normalizes, we can expect a new wave of gamers duped,” he said.

According to Test Purchase the controller drift problem points to the fact that manufacturers want to save as much as possible during the production process. “As a result, consumers have to innovate faster and the mountain of waste increases,” said Simon November, spokesman for Test Achats. “We also saw such premature obsolescence on the Nintendo Switch.”

The action of the Belgian consumer organization comes after Sony a few weeks ago in the United States came into disrepute with the determined controller drift in DualSense controllers. An American law firm complained the Japanese electronics manufacturer is due to this problem and is considering a class-action-lawsuit. Controller drift would cause the PS5 controller to register movements without the thumbsticks be touched. This problem has already been discussed on the Internet a lot of reports done.
