Tesla Achieves Milestone: Produces 5 Million Cars in 15 Years

The American electric car manufacturer Tesla has reached a significant milestone – 5 million produced cars, which the pioneer of electric cars was able to accomplish in 15 years.

Tesla’s production volumes are increasing in a geometric progression, as the first million was reached relatively recently – in 2020, while the 4 million mark fell on March 1, 2023, which means that a little more than six months were enough to make the last million.

In the second quarter of 2023 alone, Tesla was able to produce 479,700 vehicles. The lion’s share – 460,211 cars – were the compact Model 3 and Model Y, while the more expensive and prestigious Model X and Model S yielded 19,489 units.

Model 3 became the jubilee – the 5 millionth Tesla copy – so let’s remind you that at the end of the summer, the American automobile company presented the updated Model 3, which has undergone quite significant changes. The front of the modernized version has been completely redesigned – new headlights, bumper, hood and fenders have been installed. At the back of the Tesla Model 3, there are new lights, a different trunk lid, a bumper and an inscription with the brand name, instead of the previous logo. 18- or 19-inch rims of original design were specially prepared for the new model, but the length of the car increased to 4720 mm.

In the interior, a new steering wheel with integrated turn signal switches, a new front panel with changeable background lighting, a multimedia device that works much faster, a wireless charging niche for two smartphones in the center console, and the rear passengers have their own touch screen for climate control or multimedia functions.

The modernized Model 3 will be available on the European market in October, the price in Germany is 42,990 euros, the price in China, converted from yuan – 34,700 euros.
