Terje Kristiansen – The film profile is dead

It appears in an obituary in Aftenposten on Saturday. The funeral took place in silence at Terje’s request, the ad says. Kristiansen died on October 27, three days before he would have turned 77 years old.

Kristiansen is known for films such as “Høvdingen”, “Løperjenten” and “Hud”. Kristiansen was married to the film director, actress and author Vibeke Løkkeberg and produced most of her films, among them the documentary «Gaza tears» from 2010.

In 1984 he wrote the script, produced, directed and starred in the film «The Chief».

He was involved in several of NRK’s ​​TV programs in the 70’s, was the recording manager on “Rain” and the screenwriter on “Revelation” – both directed by Løkkeberg. Other films he has been involved in are “The Unbearable Lightness of Life” and “Seagulls”.

Terje Kristiansen was cinema director and cultural director in Ås municipality from 1970 to 2008 and was in his time Norway’s youngest cinema director.

In 1980 he started the production company Åsfilm and five years later The Norway Film, which produced, among other things, “The Mosquito Coast”, “Mio, my Mio” and “The Wizard”. In the late 90’s he started Imax at Aker Brygge which showed three-dimensional films.

In 2012, he was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. Løkkeberg and Kristiansen have two daughters. Terje Kristiansen also leaves behind two sons from a previous marriage.
