Since the reception last Thursday of an anonymous message formulating death threats against the adults of the establishment, the college has been idling. While the professors decided to stop work, the management of the academy refused their right of withdrawal.
“you are vermin“. The message, slipped Thursday morning under the door of the room where the teachers take their meals, threatens to “kill” the adults of the Alfred-Sisley college in L’Île-Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis). Following receipt of this anonymous letter, the staff decided to exercise their right of withdrawal, as soon as noon.
This request was refused by the management of the academy, on the grounds that “the security conditions within the establishment“would”assured“. The hierarchy granted an audience to the teachers, scheduled for Tuesday, June 8 (ten days later), asking them to return to work in the meantime.
The staff denounce, them, a lack of consideration. “We are extremely shocked“, explains a history-geo teacher, who came to demonstrate with several colleagues this Tuesday morning in front of the Directorate of Departmental Services for National Education (DSDEN) in Bobigny. He points to a “sentiment d’abandon“.

“We don’t understand, he laments. We feel in danger, we feel bad in our establishment. And there we are asked to return to work because that is what seems to be most important for our hierarchy: not to make waves. While these are serious facts. With my colleagues, we do not see how we could go back to our classes as if nothing had happened, when nothing is done.“
Teachers ask for the classification of their college in REP+
Beyond the right of withdrawal, staff are also asking for more human resources. They are thus demanding that their establishment be classified as a “reinforced priority education network” (REP+). “There are not enough adults in general, says another teacher who also came to demonstrate on Tuesday. And there is the question of supervisors, CPEs and mediators and actors in the city.“
In a statement dated Monday, relayed by the SNES-FSU 93 union, college staff denounce “with the greatest firmness contempt and lack of consideration“. “Such phenomena of violence are generated by the abandonment by the public authorities of the territory and its population, in particular its young people.“, points the text.

Seven teachers from the establishment were on sick leave on Tuesday, according to the staff who came to demonstrate in Bobigny. The college has about thirty professors in total.
The staff had already demonstrated last Friday in front of the headquarters of the DSDEN. It should also be noted that the teachers had already requested the classification in REP+ last year, after acts of violence. But they had not been heard. As for the death threats, the director of the establishment decided to lodge a complaint on behalf of the college. An investigation has been opened.
