Tenerife recovers electricity supply after seven hours without electricity | Radio Club Tenerife

A few minutes after 5:00 p.m. the electricity supply on the Island has been completely recovered. Something happened more than 7 hours after a failure in a generation group at the Granadilla de Abona thermal power plant caused the second energy zero that the Island has suffered in less than a year.

The Government of the Canary Islands will now initiate a file to precisely determine the causes and settle responsibilities, as the president, Ángel Víctor Torres, has advanced in his official Twitter account. The companies responsible for power generation (Endesa) and energy transportation (REE) will also carry out their own investigations to clear up doubts about this new incident.

Elevator rescue, garage opening, and a stubble fire

During the morning, members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium, have intervened in some 13 incidents in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Granadilla, La Laguna and Puerto de la Cruz. All of them related to rescues in elevators and opening doors, he has even had to put out a stubble fire caused by an electrical transformer.
