A few minutes after 5:00 p.m. the electricity supply on the Island has been completely recovered. Something happened more than 7 hours after a failure in a generation group at the Granadilla de Abona thermal power plant caused the second energy zero that the Island has suffered in less than a year.
At 4:44 pm, island time, we completed the replacement of 100% of the electricity supply of the island of #Tenerife. After the first investigations, it is confirmed that the cause of the incident is due to a fault in the generation. We are sorry for the inconvenience for what happened.

The Government of the Canary Islands will now initiate a file to precisely determine the causes and settle responsibilities, as the president, Ángel Víctor Torres, has advanced in his official Twitter account. The companies responsible for power generation (Endesa) and energy transportation (REE) will also carry out their own investigations to clear up doubts about this new incident.
After seven hours, the electricity operator reports that 100% of the supply in Tenerife is already restored. From today, the Government of the Canary Islands has opened an information file to find out the causes, consequences and responsibilities of this energy zero.
