Ten days after her criticism of Islam, young Mila still cannot return to her high school

Victim of threats on social networks, the 16-year-old student from Isère finds herself without a school assignment, pending a solution from the rectorate.

Ten days after the publication of his critical video towards Islam (and religions in general), followed by a wave of death threats and rape on social networks, Mila, 16 year old student from Isère, has still not returned to its Villefontaine establishment. Indeed, her statements (she qualifies Islam as “religion of hate” and add “I hate all religions”) caused the indignation of part of the students.

The rectorate of the Grenoble Academy, in contact with the family, set out to find a solution that will allow Mila to find the way to the classrooms as quickly and safely as possible. “Several options are on the table”, clarified to AFP Aymeric Meiss, director of cabinet of the rector of the academy of Grenoble. But he confirmed that the teenager had not returned to high school since the facts, “because the situation does not allow it”. Without specifying if a return to his school is planned.

“We can’t find an establishment in which the safety of this young girl would be guaranteed, it’s dizzying”, deplored Wednesday on BFMTV his lawyer, Richard Malka, while recalling that the student “did not commit any crime”.

The Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office, which had opened an investigation for “provoking hatred against a group of people because of their membership of a particular race or religion”, finally closed it. For the prosecutor Jérôme Bourrier, the investigation showed that the remarks broadcast, “whatever their outrageous tone”, had for “sole object of expressing a personal opinion with regard to a religion, without the desire to exhort hatred or violence against individuals”.

Investigators, on the other hand, are continuing their investigations to find the perpetrators of the death threats expressed against the adolescent, who filed a complaint.
