After his series Grégory, centered on the case of the death of little Grégory Villemin in 1984, Netflix is ​​preparing a new documentary on another resounding court case: the Outreau case. The production is currently being spotted in the town of Pas-de-Calais, report our colleagues from The voice of the North.

The mayor of the city, Sébastien Chochois, ensures on a daily basis that he received a production team on February 10. This team who would have presented the project to him. The Boulogne-sur-Mer police station was also approached.

According to The voice of the North, this new documentary is overseen by Lagardère Studios, in collaboration with the company Imagissime, to whom we owe the mini-series Grégory, available on Netflix since November 20, 2019. Thanks to numerous testimonies and archives, the program had rekindled passions for this extraordinary criminal case.

A soap opera or a movie?

Always according to The voice of the North, the documentary centered on the Outreau affair could be produced in a serial format similar to that on the Grégory affair. Netflix did not wish to communicate on the project.

The Outreau case, described as a fiasco for having highlighted the dysfunctions of the judicial institution, erupted at the very beginning of the 2000s: several inhabitants of the town of Outreau had found themselves accused by children of rape. and sexual assault. 13 people, many of whom were held in detention for several years, were eventually acquitted after the main defendant in the case, Myriam Badaoui, confessed to lying.
