A 16-year-old girl died on Saturday after being seriously injured in an ATV accident in the Maison-de-Pierre Controlled Zone (Zec), north of L’Ascension, in the Laurentians.
The swerving took place around 11 a.m. in the Lac Jacques sector, one of the many lakes in the zec.
The young woman, originally from the Mirabel region, was the driver of the vehicle. She was transported to a hospital center by ambulance.
His passenger, an 8-year-old girl, suffered only minor injuries.
