The Ludwigsburg team confidently prevailed in their relegation, which consisted of two competitions in both air rifle and air pistol. With an average of 374.2 points, the team clearly demonstrated its suitability for the first division and ended up 71 (!) points ahead of SV Altheim Waldhausen, who are returning to the top flight after a two-year absence. At the same time, the difference of seven rings to SG 1928 Glattbach was the smallest lead in all relegation competitions.
In the north, SSG Teutoburger Wald and SV Lindwedel held their own against the five competitors. Teutoburger Wald returns after relegation in the 2018/19 season, SV Lindwedel – which was promoted last year – remains in league one and implemented what sports director Axel Pralle had said after reaching relegation: “The Boys are now so excited about the relegation and training for it, a motivating speech is unnecessary.”
Last year’s newcomer Gemütlichkeit Luckenpaint acted very confidently in the air rifle relegation in Pforzheim: Led by the Swiss Murielüger, who contributed 397 rings twice, the team won the tournament with 3941 rings. Just behind was FSG Kempten (3937), which had the best shooter of the weekend in Argentine Fernanda Russo with 797 rings. This means that Kempten will have a team in both the 1st Bundesliga air rifle and air pistol in the 2024/25 season – this is otherwise only reserved for SSG Dynamit Fürth.
In the north, the results with the air rifle were not that high, but the qualification of the Ohligser SGem 75/03 with 3922 rings and the Wetterau team with 3884 rings were not in danger. The first-time promotion of the Ohligsers was secured by the Hungarian Dorina Lovasz with a strong 796 rings on both days. For the Wetterau team, Paralympic champion Natascha Hiltrop achieved the best result for her team in the absence of number one Max Ohlenburger.
