Team India Dominates ODI World Cup with Records & Statistics

9 matches unbeaten, top of the points table. Team India’s winning streak in the ODI World Cup is not limited to this figure alone. Most of the individual records in this World Cup are held by Indian players when the group round matches are over.

∙ Rohit’s boundary runs 75%

Rohit Sharma is the batsman who scored more runs only through boundaries. 75% of Rohit’s 503 runs in this World Cup so far have come through boundaries.

Rohit has scored 58 fours and 24 sixes so far. Aussie player Glenn Maxwell (74%) is second in this figure.

∙ Wonder 11

India has another goal as big as winning the title – Wonder XI! Australia lifted the cup with 11 consecutive wins in 2003 and 2007 World Cups.

An opportunity awaits India to match this record. India will also participate in the Wonder XI if they win the semi and final and lift the cup.

∙ If you are the first, there is no cup!

None of the top seeded teams in the round robin league have yet made it to the semi-finals. This is a history that scares the Indian fans who are preparing for the knockout round.

New Zealand in 1992 and India in 2019 were the first to compete in the round robin league. Both teams lost in the semi-finals.

∙ Only Collie

Virat Kohli is the first Indian cricketer to score half-century and wicket in ODI and Twenty20 World Cup matches. Kohli became the owner of this record when he dismissed Netherlands player Scott Edwards in the final group match of the ODI World Cup.
