This act of violence triggered the public transport drivers to stop and on social networks they denounced that they are tired of being “hawks” of the Michoacana Family.
“The organizations of taxi drivers and minibuses are distancing ourselves from La FM (Familia Michoacana), we are tired of being their hawks and may God help us because now we have to wait for their retaliation and for now we keep our taxis […] We have to unite, they can’t kill us all [sic]”says the message.

The municipal government of Taxco accused that regarding what is happening in Taxco there has been bad information on social networks that seeks to cause “psychosis and anxiety” among the population.

On social networks, the mayor reported his return to the country to address the situation of violence and explained that the plan was to travel for six days, but he decided to return.
“I know these little bumps are going to continue happening. We were going for the whole week, but unfortunately this is happening and here I am showing my face. We are going to the security tables, we are going to continue working, this is what they hired me for, so face up and with our faces held high,” she said in a video that he published on social networks.
