“The number of declarations reached Rp. 4,884 trillion, or 39.3%. Imagine that 40% of our GDP that was not declared was then declared in the tax amnesty,” Sri Mulyani explained in a working meeting of the House of Representatives Commission XI, quoted Tuesday (29/6/2021). ).
“The total ransom amounted to Rp. 114.54 trillion or about 0.92% of GDP. This is the largest total among countries that have implemented tax amnesty,” Sri Mulyani continued.
Tax Amnesty, said Sri Mulyani, has also encouraged tax compliance from its participants. In terms of compliance, for example, it increased from 8.1% in 2014. It increased dramatically to 132.5% in 2016. In this case, for Tax Amnesty, the annual SPT compliance rate reaches more than 91%.
Besides that, the value of tax payments from individual taxpayers who are participants of the tax amnesty, said Sri Mulyani, also experienced an increase or higher than taxpayers who were not participants of the tax amnesty.
For this success, the government opened a discourse to re-launch the Tax Amnesty program volume II. The government is currently drafting a Tax Amnesty volume II scheme through the fifth revision of Law Number 6 of 1983 concerning General Provisions and Tax Procedures (KUP).
