Tarantino to his mother: When you become famous, you will not receive a penny!

Quentin Tarantino is a man who can keep his promises.

And who has a very clear message to parents – be careful what you say to your children, because it could have long-term consequences.

The director of “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” spoke in the podcast of the showman Brian Kopelman, where he admitted why all these years he has not given any money to his mother despite his fortune of over 120 million dollars.

In fact, even as a young man, Tarantino vowed not to share a penny with her.

It all starts with a seemingly innocent dispute between him and his mother – Connie Interceded. Connie was called to school by the future director’s teachers, who complained about his poor performance in class.

His mother, quite understandably, returns in a terrible mood and starts the scandal with her son from the door.

In his anger, Advocate stated sarcastically: “Oh, and by the way, that little thing with writing? That nonsense is over!”. Apparently the mother was referring to Tarantino’s passion for writing and tried to somehow express the opinion that she did not see much prospect in this profession.

However, Quentin takes his mother’s words more than seriously and is not joking about the mocking tone, so he replies: “OK, lady, when you become a successful writer, you will not see a penny of my success!”.

“There will be no house for you. There will be no vacation or the Cadillac of Elvis. You will not get anything because you said so,” added Tarantino.

Podcast host Kopelman is tempted to ask if this promise has been kept to this day, but the director is adamant that he has kept his word. Well, he almost held back – he says he helped his mother once when she was in trouble with the Federal Tax Service.

“But not a house. There is no house or Cadillac,” he hastened to add.

He wants to convey to all parents the message that their words to children and especially the sarcastic tone sometimes have incredibly strong consequences, especially when it comes to something that is important for the little ones.

That “writing thing” definitely turned out to be successful for Tarantino, as his financial situation shows. He already has nine films behind him, written and directed by him. He has twice won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay – for “Criminal” and “Django Without Shackles”. He also won a Golden Globe for these scenarios, as well as another for Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood.

The latter also became a book, with which Tarantino slowly began to move on to other creative endeavors, as he himself said several times that he would make only 10 films before retiring.
