Filmmaker and actor K. Mailsamy made her film debut with Bhagyaraj’s 1984 film ‘Dhavani Kanavs’. Mailsamy has acted in more than 200 films during his 39-year film career. His roles in ‘Dhool’, ‘Vaseegara’, ‘Gilli’, ‘Giri’, ‘Veeram’, ‘Kanchana’ and ‘Kannadal Kaidu Sei’ were much appreciated. He won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian in 2004.
