Jamal’s family has been the target of several attacks in the past month. For example, an incendiary bomb was thrown against the facade of a restaurant owned by the family and Jamal’s parental home was shelled.

“Talpa and the Belgian producer Roses Are Blue are shocked by the reports surrounding Mr. Jamal Ben Saddik. In view of this situation, we have decided to postpone the recordings with him until further notice,” said the spokeswoman. Jamal would join the program with Najib Amhali.

Jamal reported the news himself on Instagram on Tuesday. He shared an email he had received from a Talpa editor-in-chief stating that the shooting had been postponed. ‘It is too great a (financial) risk for us to schedule this now’, it read. The kickboxer was not happy with the news, calling it “pure character assassination.”
