Tallinn City Council member Kairet Remmak-Grassmann joins the Center Party

The chairman of the Center Party, Mihhail Kõlvart, said that Kairet Remmak-Grassmann’s experience and knowledge will not only strengthen the faction of the Tallinn City Council, but the entire party, especially in the fields of education and social affairs.

“Remmak-Grassmann is an experienced educational manager who has a master’s degree in the social field and is further improving himself at the University of Tartu. His joining gives assurance that the Center Party has a clear direction in education and social policy, as well as in city management in general, and a strong team to cooperate with and develop Tallinn,” Kõlvart said.

Kairet Remmak-Grassmann said that he carefully considered joining and felt that the timing was right. “I have worked with the faction of the Center Party for two years and have seen the work of the council and the city government up close. This cooperation has undoubtedly given me more courage and confidence that I have chosen the right political party to work for the city residents and apply my knowledge,” said the commissioner.

He added that he likes the activity that the Center Party has shown in governing the state, both in the coalition and in the opposition, and of course also in the capital. “I like the balanced behavior of the Center Party in the parliament. Substantive work is preferred over big words, and this also applies in Tallinn. Social and educational issues have always been considered very important, which can also be seen in next year’s budget,” said Remmak-Grassmann.

He pointed out, for example, the plans and funding for the transition to Estonian-language education at a time when the government’s messages and actions have not given confidence in the success of the reform. “As a person in the field of education, I am glad that Tallinn contributes as much as possible to ensure that the quality of our education does not decrease and that children, teachers and parents have the necessary support,” he emphasized.
