The costume collections created during the last academic year are presented annually at the Latvian Academy of Arts (LAA) student fashion show. This year, taking into account the current situation and the format typical of the era, the collections will be presented in the fashion film “Digitalization”, which will premiere on June 29 at 16:30 in Riga Film Studio, LMA representatives informed.
“For the first time in the history of the LAA Department of Fashion, an interdisciplinary project has been created that reflects the changes in the global fashion industry and the impact of the pandemic, as well as the inexhaustible desire to seek new means of expression in fashion art and design. This film will be a lasting testament to the unusual working conditions of 2021, the search for inspiration and the hopes and dreams of today’s society, ”explained Agnese Narnicka, Head of the Fashion Department of the Latvian Academy of Arts.
The director of the film “Digitization” is Ivars Burtnieks, the author of the music is Brauer, the photographer is Mārtiņš Cīrulis, the author of the graphic identity is Aleksandra Samuļenkova. The collections created by 18 LMA fashion design sub-branch bachelor’s and master’s program students have been selected for the film.
