“Tailor’s Day in Silmači” is restored at the Puppet Theater / Article

“We take quite a lot as a legacy from its production, but in reality this is an absolutely new production, because a lot is changing and a lot of interesting offers, as it will be fun,” promises director Laila Kirmuška.

As in the Puppet Theater, the most appropriate animal with humor has been chosen for each hero of “Skoderdienas Silmači”. The dolls created by the artist Ilze Vītoliņa have survived from the first production directed by Kārlis Auškāpa.

“This is a copy of Dace Vītola’s play, he has worked hard here, even drawn,” says Puppet Theater actor Edgars Kaufelds. “These are from the very first production by director Kārlis Auškāps. There are some interesting quotes about images, because we transformed them into animals and highlighted their animal qualities. Since I played Rudi, I was written: the modern age is coming, and I have to go show those yahns how to live properly. “

Elīna Bojaarkka will play the role of Ieviņa in the production. The actress reveals: “Ieviņa is a goat in this production, she is a stubborn teenager who goes with her self and does not listen to what her parents tell her. She just wants to have fun and live.”

Kārlēns, whose production will be played by Rihards Zelezņevs, will be a foal. The actor says: “It’s an interesting form experiment, I have a doll, Carnelian, who is a foal young.
