Table tennis: Special weekend for Nîmes-Montpellier

Before the Pro Dames meeting scheduled for Sunday, the club is setting up two days of discussions around table tennis.

The Nîmes-Montpellier Alliance has seen a dynamic start to the year. From this weekend, when many French people are going to taste their first galette des rois of the year, the club will be on deck for two days of discussions. From this Saturday, from 2 p.m., the first press ping tournament will be organized at the Saint-Stanislas Complex in Nîmes. The winner will be presented with the trophy by Gilles Erb, president of the French Table Tennis Federation.

From 5.30 p.m., place for a conference-debate on the economy and sport around 2 main axes: “the sporting project and its sources of funding” and “Nîmes and Gard, land of welcome for the 2024 Paris Games”. President of the FFTT, Gilles Erb will participate in this conference. Wladimir Andreff, professor emeritus in Economic Sciences at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Observatory of Sports Economics, Ministry of Sports, since 2016, will also be on hand.

On Sunday, a new round table will be organized, bringing together the president of the FTTT, the club presidents and the elected officials of the departmental committees and of the Occitanie regional league. The development of the activity as a federal priority and the training of the young athlete as an adventure shared between sport and school will notably be discussed. All this before, at 3.30 p.m., the kickoff of the Pro Dames meeting between the Alliance Nîmes-Montpellier and Issy-les-Moulineaux at the Pablo Neruda Complex, the kickoff of which will be given by Gilles Erb.
