Shanghai 2021 list. 10 Polish universities on the list of the best universities in the world
The best Polish universities, according to the Shanghai List, they are University of Warsaw i Jagiellonian university. A year ago, the University of Warsaw was in the fourth hundred, and the Jagiellonian University, just like in 2021, in the fifth hundred. AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, as in 2021, it is in the eighth hundred, and Warsaw Medical University he was promoted from the last hundred to the eighth. The ninth hundred includes: Gdańsk University of Technology, Medical University of Piastów Śląskich in Wrocław and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw. They were in the tenth hundred of the ranking University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology i Warsaw University of Technology.
Shanghai List. What are the criteria for assessing world universities?
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) uses special criteria to evaluate universities. It uses six objective indicators – including the number of Nobel Prize and Fields Medals alumni and employees, the number of highly cited researchers selected by Clarivate Analytics, the number of articles published in Nature and Science journals, the number of articles indexed in the Science Citation Index – Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index and performance in relation to size university.
Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) stayed after once first published in June 2003 by the Center for World Class Universities (CWCU), Graduate School of Education (formerly Institute of Higher Education) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.
