SYRIZA MP Othonas Iliopoulos is expected to announce his resignation within the day, according to information.
His position Member of Statethe first runner-up from the SYRIZA ballot, Popi Tsapanidou, is expected to win.
Othonas Iliopoulos had in the past left open his resignation as an MP due to his busy schedule at the university.
“Half of them say that I will resign because I have been forced by Kasselakis. Last scenario is that I will resign because my job will force me to. I have one thing to say, that no one has pressured me in my work, that even if I had been pressured, I personally make the decisions about what I will do and try to optimize the way in which I will represent the diaspora Hellenism”, he had stated on the Action24 television station, emphasizing at the same time that Stefanos Kasselakis “never asked or pressured anyone to resign from the state parliamentarians”.
