Gerovasili: I did not withdraw my nomination
Speaking to journalists, Olga Gerovasili denied that she withdrew her candidacy. “My proposal for elections in a month was never put to a vote. I didn’t withdraw her,” he said characteristically.
Commenting on her statement to Stefanos Kasselakis “if you want elections on March 10, do it yourself” she said that it was her comment because she thought that the president of SYRIZA tried to circumvent the statute.
She made it clear that her own proposal was elections in a month “as defined by the statute”.
He also emphasized that the body essentially, “overvoting the Famellou-Pappa-G. Tsipras proposal (which was put to the vote first), rejected the Kasselakis proposal for elections”.
He then wondered “why the other two proposals were not put to the vote in the correct order, that is, in the order in which they were tabled?” President’s, mine and Famello’s?”
“Because it shouldn’t have been seen that the president’s proposal was voted down” she replied…
“There is no blank check for anyone” he said at another point and called on Stefanos Kasselakis to proceed without polarization and divisive statements of the type “find me an opponent and let’s go”.

“In principle, in order to start any process of electing a president, it must be approved by the body of the Congress. That’s why the proposal of Famellos – Pappas – G. Tsipras came first” said the president of the Conference, Panos Rigas and continued:
“There were three proposals. Of the three, the Kasselakis package proposal for March 10 elections and the proposal of Olga Gerovasilis.
Olga Gerovasilis was asked to clarify her proposal. He went up to the podium and said that the statute should be respected, that is, elections on April 7. Then he said to the president “if you want elections on March 10, do it yourself”” he then noted.
