Symposium of the Muses in Pulka’s Homestead: Creative Workshops, Excursions, and Cultural Events

For the first time, when all four museums cooperated, an engaging program was offered with various creative workshops and master classes. Throughout the day, there was an opportunity to participate in creative workshops in the courtyard of Pulka Street, as well as to go on excursions, learning about the history of the local area. “Symposium of the Muses in Pulka’s Homestead” was held with bright and positive emotions and resonated with the entire Museum Storage area.

“Symposium of the Muses in Pulka’s homestead” was performed by city dancers and lustes with the Riga Dance Club, as well as a concert by the National Guard Orchestra. Poets – Ivars Šteinbergs, Inga Pizāne, Marija Luīze Meļķe performed with poetry readings accompanied by music by Jēkabs Nīmanis.

Throughout the day, Riga Cinema Museum in the cultural space “Tintnīca” offered the opportunity to watch films shot in the vicinity of Iļguciem and Dzegužkalns – “The Return of Sergeant Lapiņa”, “Iļguciem’s ​​Sisters” and “Criminal Excellence Fund”.

Museums also invited excursions – to learn the secrets of the surroundings of Dzegužkalns. The Museum of Literature and Music offered a tour “Dzegužkalns aizkūkos”, as well as a tour of the current exhibition “Linards Town – Eternal Cloud”.

The educational platform of the Museum of Writing and Music “Let’s grow in the museum!” held creative workshops and activities for children – fairy hunting and fairy tale creation boudoir, as well as a memory game for the whole family. The National Art Museum of Latvia invited to get acquainted with the exhibition “Forest of Sculptures”, and also offered a tour of the outdoor exhibition “Mythical Figures”, where a sketching master class took place, creative workshops and various coloring pages were offered to children.

The National History Museum of Latvia offered a unique opportunity to view the storage rooms with prior application, held a neighborhood history cleanup “Stories of the century”, invited to view the digital exhibition “Pulka Street neighborhood history in photos and maps. 17.-20. century.” and participate in the creative workshop for children “Get to know the history of Latvia”.
